A few shots from the Airshow at Peachtree Dekalb Airport (PDK) this afternoon. Was using a 100-400 mm lens. This lens works best for bright light like I saw today...
A note about post-processing. Adobe Lightroom has the ability to detect what camera you used, and then has custom calibration options for that camera. These were processed with the Canon 1DS III Landscape calibration setting, which really saturates the outdoor colors and makes them pop.
My favorite is the first shot. Framed just like that in-camera -- lens at 250mm -- pretty lucky shot.

Pink Roses
Normally don't shoot flowers, but mom-in-law brought over some mini pink vine roses. Thought I'd try shooting these with pure window light
and a bit of a white reflector.

Cradle

Exact same lighting as Flavors below. All I did was crank down the aperture a bit to dim the light.

Flavors

Realized that I haven't been posting to the blog that much lately-- been doing a lot of writing about light and color elsewhere and have not been photographing as much. I think this photo was influenced by all that navel gazing. Was going to do Atlanta Skylines this morning but the clouds and rain kept me at home. Decided to lazily fart around with the camera -- even too lazy to focus and meter the light correctly, just chimping along...
