Edamame

Tasty baby soybeans and lemon.

Canon 5D, f/32, 1/160s, ISO 100, 90mm on 90mm lens. One strip box, horizontal in the upper frame, a white piece of foam for bounce in the lower frame.

Never work with children or animals, because they don't take direction well! I laid this shot out as much as possible, this was second night of shooting. After everything ready, I introduced the fish. Did some research on using flashes on animals and fish and it appears that this was an OK thing to do, but I kept their involvement to a minimum. Fish are doing OK.

Even though a little busy, I like this one because of the water ripples. This makes a pretty cool screen saver.

Brad, I really like this one, but its funny, because I actually don't like the ripples. Until I noticed the ripple it looked like a very convincing trick.

But then again, I'm no art critic - keep up the great work, its really inspiring.

Cool, because I'm no Artist!

So, about the ripples. Long story short, in this day of digital and photoshopping, a lot of the photos I like to shoot could be done in photoshop instead of reality. I kept the ripples in the shot as sort of a way of differentiating this shot from a photoshopped one -- I don't think that is something that could easily be done by photoshop artist. As you said, without the ripple, this could have come across as a trick shot -- for good or bad I was trying to avoid that look.

Ok, I didn't even view it from that perspective - good point :)
